Cinnamon rolls with Golden Milk

Cinnamon Roll but make it healthy! October 4th is the official day honouring this popular Scandinavian pastry, and to celebrate we are sharing an alternative, healthy recipe, that like our products, is vegan and gluten-free – perfect for any occasion! In this recipe we use oat flour, but you can substitute with any flour of your preference.

You can sprinkle with your favorite toppings such as chopped almonds, brown sugar, almond or nut butter. We recommend using a plant-based milk to add some extra calcium, protein and vitamin D, and pair with our creamy and delicious Golden Milk to give that extra boost of goodness to your fika.

Ingredients

Dough

• 360 g gluten-free oat flour

• 30 grams dairy free butter or margarine

• 1 dl plant-based milk

• 10 g yeast

• 1.5 tbsp agave syrup or honey

• 1 pinch of salt

Filling

• 18 g dairy-free butter or margarine

• 1 tsp cinnamon powder

• 2 tbsp agave syrup or honey

• 1.5 tbsp corn starch

Topping

• Finely chopped almonds

• Melted chocolate

Tip! Pair your cinnamon roll with a cup of warm Golden Milk for a complete healthy snack. 

To prepare Golden Milk warm, we recommend you warm a cup of plant-based milk, add 1 tbsp of Golden Milk (adjust to your preference) and mix with a hand whisk until smooth. Top with cardamom powder for extra goodness.

Directions

Mix all dough ingredients in a dough mixer until you reach a smooth consistency, for about 8 minutes.

Put the dough in a bowl and cover it with a kitchen cloth or lid. Put in the fridge for a minimum of 2 hours.

In a separate bowl, add all the ingredients for the filling, and make sure the butter is at room temperature. Mix with an electric mixer until you reach a smooth consistency.

Preheat the oven to 200 C degrees

Sprinkle some flour on your table, roll out the dough, pour the filling on it, and spread it out evenly.

Roll the dough and cut it evenly into 9 parts 

Place the buns on a non-stick tray in the oven for around 14 minutes or until they look golden.

Sprinkle the buns with your toppings of choice and leave to cool on a wire rack

Serve with a warm cup of Golden Milk and enjoy!
